Just me and the wife. We spend so much time together that our hair has become the same color. Shout-out to J-Tats - I miss you.

Welcome to the World of the Plastic Beach

Yeah I take pictures of little kids I don't know. SO WHAT. He was darn cute and he liked it.

Old people doing their thang, morning aerobics poolside (and someone looking for buried treasure?)

My Future Home?

The day that everything changed. Mainly because of the crab cake benedict breakfast and awesome fro dude and friendly people on the street, but also because of these guys right here.

Elegance

Oysters! And my Grandpa's awesome lady friend, Ayne, who also goes by Mrs. Z and once used to own a super fancy restaurant in Jersey but now watches Judge Judy at extremely high volume and gives me perfumed silk scarves because she loves me.

Igloofest

You don't know cold until you go to a party called Igloofest and it's -25 F outside and you realize you should have worn two pairs of gloves and three pairs of socks. And that you live in a world full of crazy people who drink more than they should because they think it will help them survive the elements.

Serenade for Winds, K. 361

The happiest of birthdays to Mr. Mozart. Putting aside major differences in time and space, Wolfgang and Ansel Adams are like peaches and cream, leggings and uggs, coffee and donuts.

[The above photograph is Ansel Adams, not sure where though]

Fairmount Luxury Goods

What's in store for me for breakfast. Had a life-altering beer at Dieu du Ciel called La Premiere Neige, a blonde beer with licorice and something else in French. Scrumdiddlyumptious. Bagels!

Maurice Ravel on his 53rd birthday in Manhattan (sitting at the piano.) Far right is George Gershwin. I wish bowties were more en vogue these days, as well as loafers at the piano, which I'm sure were buffed to perfection.

It's too cold to feel anything but nostalgia

Took this photo on my walk to/from MoMA back on Christmas break (can't really remember.) All I know is the Tim Burton exhibit left me feeling like the Governator after a sauna - I can only imagine that he feels awesome after that. And because it's too cold to feel anything but nostalgic, here is his poem, "Stick Boy and Match Girl in Love:"

Stick Boy liked Match Girl,
He liked her a lot.
He liked her cute figure,
he thought she was hot.

But could a flame ever burn
for a match and a stick?
It did quite literally;
he burned up quick.

Note: I suggest looking at the art that goes along with this poem. Thanks Timbo!

Remember that Vitamin C song from middle school?

"As we go on / we remember / all the times we / had togetherrrrrr"

a truly barf-worthy sentiment if i wasn't such a sloppy romantic this morning.

speaking of booze (was i?) today article 18 to the US constitution was ratified in 1919, which prohibited the sale of alcohol beverages. i will raise my glass to that bill getting shot down!

An affinity for lights and pedestrians

I'm thankful for christmas lights in January. I'm thankful for the "mild" weather conditions in this fair city right now. I'm thankful for Reuben pizzas. I'm thankful that my thesis supervisor returned from Gaza and the West Bank and finally answered my emails. I'm thankful for Bo Obama and Claude Monet.

This photo is making me queasy

Just ate so much pulled pork. My stomach hurts. Had to make some decaf coffee just to calm the digestion. Did you know pork has more tryptophan than turkey? Hence the need for naps and heads on the table. Also feel generally affected and sad by what's going on in Haiti. At least Anderson Cooper's there.

It never gets old

I already fell off the wagon and forgot to take a photo yesterday (Wednesday.) That said, I could not be happier than to post this one of Diva taken on a cold winter's night with the best of company: Liz, Meg, chocolate covered pretzels, booze, a fire, and Face/Off.

Be considerate....or the DEVIL WILL GET YOU

The ever so inviting bathroom on the Amtrak.

Would totally make this call...not

It's dark...but I saw this on a storefront in Alphabet City. Reads: "Store for Rent: Call Crazy Landlord."

Diva: Secret Agent Snowman Assassin (operation HQ - Weston, CT)

Is she trying to become the canine Santa Claus rep for young pups around the world? Has she, like many fledgling starlets, developed a coke habit? Or is she just happy to see me?
