Igloofest
You don't know cold until you go to a party called Igloofest and it's -25 F outside and you realize you should have worn two pairs of gloves and three pairs of socks. And that you live in a world full of crazy people who drink more than they should because they think it will help them survive the elements.

It's too cold to feel anything but nostalgia
Took this photo on my walk to/from MoMA back on Christmas break (can't really remember.) All I know is the Tim Burton exhibit left me feeling like the Governator after a sauna - I can only imagine that he feels awesome after that. And because it's too cold to feel anything but nostalgic, here is his poem, "Stick Boy and Match Girl in Love:"
Stick Boy liked Match Girl,
He liked her a lot.
He liked her cute figure,
he thought she was hot.
But could a flame ever burn
for a match and a stick?
It did quite literally;
he burned up quick.
Note: I suggest looking at the art that goes along with this poem. Thanks Timbo!

Remember that Vitamin C song from middle school?
"As we go on / we remember / all the times we / had togetherrrrrr"
a truly barf-worthy sentiment if i wasn't such a sloppy romantic this morning.
speaking of booze (was i?) today article 18 to the US constitution was ratified in 1919, which prohibited the sale of alcohol beverages. i will raise my glass to that bill getting shot down!

An affinity for lights and pedestrians
I'm thankful for christmas lights in January. I'm thankful for the "mild" weather conditions in this fair city right now. I'm thankful for Reuben pizzas. I'm thankful that my thesis supervisor returned from Gaza and the West Bank and finally answered my emails. I'm thankful for Bo Obama and Claude Monet.

This photo is making me queasy
Just ate so much pulled pork. My stomach hurts. Had to make some decaf coffee just to calm the digestion. Did you know pork has more tryptophan than turkey? Hence the need for naps and heads on the table. Also feel generally affected and sad by what's going on in Haiti. At least Anderson Cooper's there.
